need advice on IonQ stock

I am pretty new to investing and hopefully someone can give me some insight here. I know the stock is almost penny stock level at the moment, but everything I have read and researched about this company says it’s on the cutting edge of quantum computing, has serious backing and serious funding, all with very little competition. Little competition in terms of companies that do nothing but quantum computers. Is there something I am not seeing that shows this is not a good long-haul opportunity?

Quantum computing being profitable is at least a decade or two away. It’s a speculative industry at the moment and no one knows who the leaders will be. I wouldn’t be surprised if the stock sells off under $10 again without constant hype pumping it.

Yes – zoom out. Look at any of the financials of IONQ – revenue, etc. All of quantum is in a bubble, there are better stocks to invest in. This stock is highly overvalued, quantum is not profitable and won’t be for 5-10 years. It’s about to drop significantly based on multiple financial indicators. There’s a lot of short interest. If you’re new to investing start with conservative strategies, not buying into meme stocks.
